2012 SUMMER PROGRAM - JUlY 5 to AUGUST 9

THEME: CHAOS and HARMONY

In Fontainebleau, workshops, lectures, visits and studios will be organized. Formal art disciplines such as drawing, watercolor graphic design and theatre design will be practiced during the session.

The program starts with a 3-day visit to Paris where students will stay at MIJE www.mije.com After arriving in Fontainebleau on July 8, there will be 4 one-week workshops directed by four different groups of professors to develop projects exploring the general theme. Each week begins with an introduction of the faculty and students are given their assignments. Students then work either individually or in teams. There are often excursions and lectures given in conjunction with the projects. A Saturday morning jury is held at the end of each workshop. At the end of the 4th week, there will be a collaboration with the music conservatory in which installations and a concert will be presented as part of closing ceremonies. After four weeks in Fontainebleau, a 3 day trip will take the students to Burgundy and back to Paris on August 9th.
